The metropolitan group identified a pressing need for housing in the country, resulting in the entry to this sector, through its fully owned subsidiaries, namely Metropolitan Property Holdings Private Ltd, and Metropolitan Residencies Private Ltd.

Metropolitan Property Holdings Private Ltd

Incorporated in 1995, the property development sector was commenced, to focus solely on land development, in order to cater to the need of those wishing to purchase home plots for housing purposes.

Metropolitan Residencies Private Ltd

Having obtained approval from the Board Of Investments (BOI) in Sri Lanka, the company decided to focus on, well designed and constructed housing for the middle and upper segments of the market. Thus, limited projects are undertaken to create more value for customers with emphasis on quality. Metropolitan distinguishes itself from others by assessing customer needs in detail at the initial stages so as to fully appreciate requirements and expectations. This results in developing dwellings that are tailor made, which are both cost effective, and more important reflecting the distinct lifestyle of the target audience. Quality, comfort reliability and ambiance are key elements factored in the process, whilst ensuring all amenities and conveniences are also met adequately.

The company aims to enhance quality and standard of life of the community, whilst contributing to the Nation in this vital social need. Its vision is to emerge as a major player in the property development Sector by creating additional value in dwelling and commercial building projects.
